Cancelling a Bid

What do you do if you want to cancel a bid?

HiBid customer support cannot cancel, retract, remove, or delete a bid for you. Only the auctioneer (seller) who is running the auction can do that.

Bids placed on HiBid are binding, and cancellations are not guaranteed once a bid is submitted. Each seller sets their own policies regarding bid cancellations, so any requests must go directly to the seller.

Can I Cancel My Bid?

In most cases, bids cannot be cancelled once submitted. However, some sellers may consider cancellation requests on a case-by-case basis.

How Do I Request a Bid Cancellation?

If you made a mistake or need to cancel a bid:

  1. Go back to the auction where you placed the bid.

  2. Click the “Contact Auctioneer” button.

  3. Politely explain the situation and ask if they can assist.

The seller will determine whether they’re willing to remove or retract your bid. HiBid support cannot cancel bids on behalf of the seller.

Important Reminders

  • Bidding errors (such as accidentally entering the wrong amount, or misunderstanding how a lot is priced — e.g., per item vs. per lot) should be reported immediately to the seller.

  • Not all sellers will approve cancellations. You may still be held responsible for payment if you win.

  • Bidders with repeated cancellation requests may be blocked from future auctions.

Best Practices

  • Double-check the item details and your bid amount before placing a bid.

  • Make sure you understand the seller’s terms and conditions, including payment and pickup or shipping policies, before bidding.

  • If you’re unsure about an item, contact the seller before placing a bid.
